Spraying Process Requirements for JERRYS Intelligent Robot Imported Spray Guns
JERRYS ROBOT
1. If the workpiece has no rust and does not require pickling, silane treatment can be adopted, which is more environmentally friendly compared to phosphating.
2. If the salt spray time requirement is not very strict, a simple four-in-one treatment method can also be used, with lower cost.
3. However, regardless of the treatment method, the powder coating base layer must be free of oil and rust. All specific processes depend on the quality of the incoming parts. If the quality is poor with heavy oil and severe rust, the traditional degreasing - water washing - pickling - water washing - water washing - surface conditioning - phosphating process is still required.
Compared with traditional painting processes, the electrostatic powder spraying process has significant advantages: no need for diluents, environmentally friendly construction with no pollution, non-toxic to humans; excellent coating appearance quality, strong adhesion and mechanical strength; short curing time for spraying construction; much higher corrosion and wear resistance of the coating; no need for primer; simple construction, low technical requirements for workers; lower cost than painting processes; some construction occasions clearly require the use of electrostatic powder spraying process; no common sagging phenomenon occurs during electrostatic powder spraying, which is often seen in painting processes.

The basic principles are as follows:
1. A high-voltage corona discharge electric field is formed between the spray gun and the workpiece. When the powder particles are ejected from the spray gun nozzle and pass through the discharge area, they capture a large number of electrons and become negatively charged particles, which are adsorbed onto the positively charged workpiece under the action of electrostatic attraction.
2. When the powder adheres to a certain thickness, the "like charges repel" effect occurs, so that no more powder can be adsorbed, thus ensuring uniform powder layer thickness in all parts. Then, after heating, baking and curing, the powder layer flows and levels into a uniform film layer.
The quality of the pre-treatment process directly affects the quality of the powder coating film. Poor pre-treatment can cause problems such as easy peeling and blistering of the coating film. Therefore, great importance must be attached to the pre-treatment work.
For sheet metal stamping parts, chemical pre-treatment can be adopted, namely: degreasing → rust removal → cleaning → phosphating (or passivation), etc. For most workpieces with severe rust or thick surface layers, mechanical methods such as sandblasting and shot blasting are used for rust removal. However, after mechanical rust removal, the workpiece surface must be ensured to be clean and free of dirt.
Puttying: Apply and scrape conductive putty according to the defect degree of the workpiece. After drying, grind it smooth with sandpaper, and then the next process can be carried out.
Protection (also called masking): If some parts of the workpiece do not require a coating, they can be covered with protective glue before preheating to avoid being sprayed with paint.
Preheating: Generally, preheating is not required. If a thicker coating is required, the workpiece can be preheated to 100~160℃, which can increase the coating thickness.
